Grailboard is a record book, not a price ticker. It keeps the biggest numbers in CS2 skins in one place — the most expensive CS2 skins ever sold, the rarest items in the game, and the market's own crash-and-recovery history — and it files each one honestly: as a confirmed sale, a refused offer, or an open listing.

That distinction is the whole point. The headline you have read a hundred times — “the $1.5 million knife” — is an offer that was turned down, not a sale. The record that actually happened is quieter: a StatTrak AK-47 Case Hardened, pattern #661, sold privately in 2024 for a figure the broker put above a million dollars. Both belong in a record book. Only one is a price.

Every figure here is a band with the date we checked it, because a static page cannot honestly quote a live market, and because record-tier items rarely trade at a single number anyway. Where a record cannot be verified, we say so rather than round it up.

Start with the ranked record board, follow the CS2 skin market cap over time, or browse the almanac below. One rule we will never break: no scam is linked anywhere on this site.

Itemized questions

What is the most expensive CS2 skin ever sold?
A StatTrak Factory New AK-47 Case Hardened with pattern #661 — the blue gem — sold in a private deal in mid-2024 for a figure the middleman put above $1 million, the highest confirmed Counter-Strike skin sale on record. It is a sale, not an estimate, which is why it tops our board.
Is the $1.5 million Karambit Blue Gem real?
The Karambit Case Hardened #387 is valued at $1.5–2 million, but that number rests on a reported $1.2 million offer its owner refused. There is no verified public sale, so we file it as an offer and valuation, not a price — a distinction most lists blur.
Why do your prices show a date and a range instead of one number?
Because this is a static record book, not a live ticker, and because record-tier items rarely have a single price — they have a spread of listings, offers and the odd confirmed sale. Every figure on the site is a band with the date we checked it and a note on whether it is a sale, an offer or a listing.
What happened to skin prices in October 2025?
On 23 October 2025 Valve let players trade five Covert skins up into a knife or gloves, and the knife and glove market roughly halved overnight — an M9 Fade fell from about $2,450 to $700. The whole market cap dropped from around $5.9 billion to near $3.4 billion in a day before recovering through 2026.
Do you cover case-opening or gambling sites?
We may, but we never link to scams. A commission never changes a record on this board.
